Ademola Lookman has received a mental boost ahead of the return leg of the 2025 Africa Cup Of Nations (2025 AFCON ) qualifier against Libya after he was named as Atalanta FC player of the month of September 2024, Sports247 reports.
According to the information on Atalanta FC official website on Sunday the Nigerian forward was adequately rewarded for his efforts in September.
Lookman got involved in three goals both in the Italian Serie A and the UEFA Champions League to beat point man Retegui and Lazar Samardžić and Retegui to the September’s gong.
The 26-year-old has been the brightest star in the Atalanta FC set up since he made the move from RB Leipzig after a loan stint with Leicester City FC.
He won the club’s player of the 2023/2024 season and scored a Hattrick in the final of the 2024 UEFA Europa League final and got a Balon d’Or nomination for his effort.
Ademola Lookman will be leading the line for the Super Eagles in the Matchday four of the 2025 AFCON qualifying match against Libya on Tuesday in Benghazi.
The former England youth international has scored two goals for the Super Eagles in the qualifying round, and the award will be a major boost for the player ahead of the match.
He stole the show at the last 2023 AFCON in Cote d’ivoire where he scored three goals to help the Super Eagles finish in the final, making him a front runner in the run-in into the 2024 CAF player of the year award.
