NPFL Week 4: Expectations High On Referees As Match Officials Get Set For Action

With no complaints trailing any of the played matches of week 3 of the NPFL which saw four away wins, home draws and no home wins, referees on duty for Week 4 fixtures are likely to continue with the delivery of free, fair and firm officiating.

Considering the names of the referees Nigeria Whistlers saw on the list of Appointed match officials by the NFF Referees Committee for Week 4, teams would brace up for good football to complement the expected high level officiating from the referees.

In the game of pride between Rivers and Enyimba, a seasoned referee from the Benue State Council, Magashi Donald, who has justified his inclusion on the list of NPFL arbiters for some years now will not relent to show class at the Adokyie Amasiemeka Stadium, Porthacourt.

In another tough encounter in Remo, Ogun State, a no nonsense referee from Rivers State Council, Uchenna Enyadike will use the Remo Stars vs Rangers International clash to stamp his authority as a reliable hand to reckon with in top of the bill crackers of such nature.

In the game among struggling sides; Ikorodu vs Nassarwa, Ikechukwu Taiwo, of Rivers known for good knowledge of the Laws of the Game, will be at the Centre for the game while the Bayelsa vs Kwara, Taiwo David of Oyo State will be the Referee for Bayelsa vs Kwara United.

Remarkably, two fifa referees who were also part of the recent CAF AFCON Qualifiers and Club Competitions are also on parade. Kano based Bashir Salisu who handled the second leg of Serkiluohume United of South Africa and Deportivo De Luanda of Angola in the Confederation Cup in South Africa a week ago, takes his whistling kits to Maiduguri, Bornu State for Elkanemi vs Plateau while international referee, Grema Mohammed comes in for Niger Tornadoes vs Bendel Insurance.
