She expatiated that a strong sense of unity pervades the team being handled by Coach Omoh, to the extent that they were able to reach an agreement on how to prosecute the tough fixture.
Adegbuyi recounted, “The match was tough, very tough, but we put in our best.
“We told ourselves that we had to make sure we won this match by all means.”
She added that everyone in the squad agreed before they left Lagos to the Delta State capital that they must win their first match in order to stabilize and eventually win the competition.
“As a team, we decided that we are coming here to win the competition. What was on our mind was that this first match must be won, then we would be able to face all the others with confidence. We were all determined before we left our camp,” Adegbuyi disclosed.
She concluded by revealing her personal targets for the competition, while also hinting that beating the tough hosts added to confidence brewing through the Lagos team’s camp.
“Our opponents also tried. They tried so much, but they were no match for us.
“Our second goal came from a pull out by the left back, and I headed it in. Expect more from me and my teammates in our remaining games,” Adegbuyi boasted.
