Boniface Shines with Brace in Bayer Leverkusen’s 4-1 Win Over Hoffenheim

Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface starred for Bayer Leverkusen, scoring twice and providing an assist in their commanding 4-1 victory over Hoffenheim at the PreZero Arena.

Boniface, returning to Bundesliga action after a four-game scoring drought, wasted no time making an impact. In the 17th minute, he set up Martin Terrier with a precise pass to open the scoring for Leverkusen.

The Nigerian forward continued to threaten Hoffenheim’s defense, narrowly missing two headers in quick succession. However, he found the net in the 30th minute, capitalizing on a long ball, beating a defender, and slotting a low drive past the goalkeeper to make it 2-0.

Hoffenheim pulled one back in the 38th minute through Mergim Berisha, but Boniface remained dangerous. He forced a superb save from Oliver Baumann in the second half, as Leverkusen pushed for more.

Florian Wirtz restored Leverkusen’s two-goal cushion with a 72nd-minute penalty, and Boniface sealed the win four minutes later, adding his second goal to make it 4-1.

This victory extends Leverkusen’s strong start to the season, with Boniface’s first Bundesliga goals marking a promising return to form.
