Kanu, who captured the hearts of many by winning Olympic gold with Nigeria’s Dream Team at Atlanta ‘96, is widely regarded as one of Africa’s most decorated footballers.

His illustrious career saw him lift the UEFA Champions League trophy with Ajax and secure Premier League titles with Arsenal.

Today, he serves as the Chairman of Enyimba Football Club and continues to make significant contributions to football and philanthropy through his Kanu Heart Foundation.

At the unveiling event, Kanu expressed his enthusiasm for joining Vodacom, stating, “Signing a dotted line with Vodacom is the perfect opportunity to join this communication giant.

I have already seen how Vodacom is spreading across the world, and its projects are designed to be a force for good.”

Kanu also promised to work closely with the Vodacom team, helping to amplify their message and achieve their global communication goals.

“I’ll be working closely with them to help spread the word and support their vision in the communication world,” he added.

Vodacom’s Executive Head in Tanzania, Mr. Philip, and Hilda Bujiku, praised the partnership, highlighting Kanu’s legendary status.

“Nwankwo Kanu needs no introduction; he’s a true football legend, and it’s an absolute honour to see him join the Vodacom family,” Philip said.

This new role for Kanu represents another milestone in his post-football career, solidifying his place as not only an African sports icon but also a global ambassador for positive change.
