Michelle Ibidapo, one of the new talents discoveries in the swimming event of the 2024 National Youth Games has set eyes on winning an Olympic Gold medal, Sports247 reports.

The 2024 National Youth Games ( NYG ) is living up to expectations of unearthing new talents and the 12 years old Michell Ibidapo representing Oyo State is one the new prospects of the next generation.

With a medal already in her bag, Michelle reveals her dreams for the sports she loves because she loves water.

In a chat with our correspondent immediately after her impressive performance in the pool on Friday morning, Michelle says the training of her coaches has been helping her as sets her eyes on winning a swimming gold medal for Nigeria at the Olympics.

‘ I am very Happy to be at the game representing Oyo State in the swimming event, and doing my best in the games all thanks to my coaches, their training has been helping me a lot” started Michelle Ibidapo

When she quizzes about her ambition in the game , the confident swimmer never hesitates to say she wants to win Olympic gold for Nigeria in Swimming.

Nigeria has never won any medal in swimming , but recent discoveries in grassroots tournaments and games like this are suggesting that the narrative may change one day.

The 2025 Youth Games is a convergence of young Athletes in the country who are under the age of 15 who are competing for honours representing different states of the federation with the aims of discovering and exposing future sports stars of the country
