The 2024 Paris Paralympics games came to a close on Sunday with a partying closing ceremony after 11 days of competitions with Nigeria winning 7 medals in all, finishing ahead of African rivals South Africa and Egypt, Sports 247 reports.
Twenty-four artists from the French electronic music scene led a party atmosphere despite heavy rain at the Stade de France in front of 4,400 athletes from 168 Paralympic delegations.

Chief Paris 2024 organiser Tony Estanguet said the Games and the Olympics had created a “historic summer”.
The former Olympic canoeist Estanguet added “France had a date with history, and the country showed up” and said 2024 will be “etched in people’s memories”.
The International Paralympic Committee president Andrew Parsons said France set a “benchmark” for future Games.
“For a country famous for its fashion and its food, France is now famous for its fans,” he said.
China tops the overall medals table to win the event with 94 gold, 76 silver and 50 bronze racking a total of 220 medals.
Great Britain won 124 medals consisting of 49 gold, 44 silver and 31 Bronze while the United States of America finished third with a total of 105 medals, made of 36 gold, 46 silver and 27 bronze medals.
Algeria is the best African team on the log, with 6 gold, and 5 bronze placing number 25 on the overall table, while Tunisia finished in the 27th position with 11 medals consisting of 5 golds, 3 silver and 3 bronze.
Nigeria came third, on the African table with 2 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze a total of 7 medals breaking and setting two new world records.
The performance placed Nigeria on 40th position on the overall medals, a notch better than African rival, Egypt who placed 41st with 2 gold, 2 Silver and 3 bronze medals.
Ethiopia won 2 golds and 1 silver to finish 44th while South Africa placed 46th with 2 golds and 4 bronze medals.
Other African countries on the medals table are Namibia on number 61, with a gold medal, and Kenya’s solitary silver medal placed them in the 75th position as a total of 85 countries made it to the medals table.
