Paul Onuachu Nears Return to Turkish Süper Lig as Göztepe Push for Transfer

Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu is on the verge of making a return to the Turkish Süper Lig, with Göztepe closing in on a deal to sign the Nigerian forward.

Onuachu’s former club Trabzonspor had been keen on re-signing the striker after his successful spell last season, where he netted 17 goals in 25 matches for the team.

However, negotiations between Trabzonspor and Southampton have stalled, with the English club holding firm on their valuation of the player.

Southampton initially demanded €15 million for Onuachu, but with the striker struggling for consistent playing time in England, the possibility of a move back to Turkey has gained momentum.

Göztepe has now emerged as a serious contender, looking to hijack the deal from Trabzonspor and offering a more attractive package for the forward.

The Turkish club is eager to finalize the transfer quickly, with negotiations expected to conclude within the next two days.

Onuachu, seeking regular first-team action, is reportedly interested in the move, and Göztepe appears determined to secure his services for the upcoming season.

With Southampton unable to guarantee the Nigerian more game time, it now seems likely that Onuachu will return to the Turkish Süper Lig, where he made a significant impact last season.

Göztepe is pushing to finalize the deal and bring the prolific striker back to Turkish football.
