The screening, which will run for one week, begins on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, and is aimed at identifying new talents to bolster the team ahead of the 2024/2025 Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) Premiership season.
The screening sessions will take place daily at the club’s training ground at Ndegwu Primary School, located in Ndegwu, Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State. Starting at 8:00 AM each day, the sessions will be overseen by the team’s coaching staff, led by Head Coach Obi Ogbala, who is renowned for his keen eye for talent and player development.
Heartland Queens FC is calling on all interested and well-skilled female footballers to seize this opportunity to showcase their abilities. The club has emphasized that attendees are required to bring their personal training kits and gear, as they will need to manage their own upkeep during the screening period.
“We are looking for players who not only have the talent but also the drive and commitment to succeed at the highest level,” said Coach Ogbala. “This screening is a crucial part of our preparations for the upcoming season, and we are eager to see the level of talent that will come forward.”
The club has already opened camp for the new season as of Thursday, August 15, 2024, with returning players currently undergoing intensive training. The successful participants from the screening will be integrated into the main squad, joining the experienced players already in camp as the team intensifies its build-up for the new NWFL season.
This open screening represents a significant opportunity for aspiring footballers to join a competitive team that is focused on making a strong impact in the NWFL. Heartland Queens FC is committed to developing homegrown talent and providing a platform for players to reach their full potential in women’s football.
