Chukwueze Credits Paulo Fonseca For His Pre-Season Revival At AC Milan

Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze has attributed his resurgence at AC Milan to a pivotal discussion with new coach Paulo Fonseca.

Flashes of brilliance were evident, but regular impactful performances eluded him, especially under former coach Stefano Pioli.

However, since Fonseca’s arrival, Chukwueze has been a standout performer in pre-season. The 25-year-old winger has registered one goal and two assists in four games, showcasing the form that made him a star at Villarreal.

In a recent interview with La Gazzetta, as reported by Milan Post, Chukwueze revealed that a straightforward but impactful conversation with Fonseca has been key to his revival.

“He only told me one thing: ‘Samuel, I don’t want to see the Chukwueze from last year. I want the one from Villarreal.’ And I said, ‘Okay, no problem.’ It’s like I’ve been reborn, I’m a new player,” Chukwueze shared.

With the Serie A season set to kick off on August 17 against Torino, Chukwueze looks poised for a strong campaign, eager to make a significant impact for AC Milan.

Fans and analysts alike will be watching closely to see if this pre-season form can carry over into the competitive matches, potentially marking a turning point in Chukwueze’s career at the club.
