Ahead of the much-anticipated Girl Child 1-day football development and mentoring programme, scheduled for Saturday, August 10th, from 9am-5pm at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, the Lagos State Female Football Development Committee has ramped up efforts to create a sustainable and rewarding female football ecosystem.

At a well-attended press conference organized by the Lagos State Football Association through its Female Football Development Committee, Vice-Chairman of Lagos FA, Adedotun Coker, praised the committee members led by Alhaja Raliat Abdulsalam for their groundbreaking initiative. Coker highlighted the board’s confidence in the committee’s ability to elevate female football, starting with the upcoming programme.
This programme is more than merely coming out to play football,” says Alhaja Abdulsalam, Chair of the Female Football Development Committee.
Alhaja Abdulsalam, expressing strong confidence in her committee’s capabilities, emphasized the programme’s comprehensive approach. “This programme is more than merely coming out to play football,” she said. “It is also planned to give our young girls several life-impacting programmes, including financial literacy and sports management.”
She underscored the importance of technical and financial support for the programme’s sustainability and expressed gratitude to the sponsors and partners for their backing. Alhaja Abdulsalam reaffirmed the committee’s commitment to maintaining long-term relationships with these supporters.
Among the programme’s partners are TopPro Sports Management, Lotus Bank, Lagos Tigers, Tingo, Alert Group, Ivory Health Club, 36 Lion Investment Limited, Ladies In Sports, and the Raliat Abdulsalam Foundation (RAF).
The Lagos State football community, including stakeholders, enthusiasts, and investors, eagerly anticipates the event on Saturday, hoping it will mark a significant step forward in the development of female football in the region.
