The tracks of the Stade de France in Paris will witness world fastest men burn the track in chase of new records and new heights.

The eventual winner of the 100 meter final will be crowded as World fastest and decorated with the prestigious gold medal.

Kanyinsola who was crowned the Nigeria men’s 100m champion at the Nigeria trial in Benin has his eyes on lowering his season and personal best of 10s which he recorded in the Lucerne Meet in Switzerland, in July 2024.

The 19 year old, who is ranked 24th going into the event believes he can break the 10s barrier at the Olympics, a target he is trusting God and coach to help him deliver.

‘ I believe in myself, and the words of my coach keep coming to my head. He would tell me to keep up my discipline, and I believe I can achieve the sub-10s here in Paris. I’m just trusting God and myself,” said Ajayi.

The 100 meter men heats will begin by 9:35 am on Saturday and alongside, Kanyinsola
Favour Ashe and Godson Brume will be participating in the event.

In the evening session, Rosemary Chukwuma will face the toughest challenge of her career as she has been lined up to run in the tougher of the two 100 meter Women Semi finals due for Saturday evening .

She is not one of the favourites though she can aspire and a spot in the final will be a superb achievement on a personal level for her.

Later in the evening at 8:25 pm, Enekwechi Chukwuebuka will be looking forward to winning Nigeria’s first medal at the Paris Olympics after hitting the final on Friday in the men’s discus event or at least his best effort in the Olympics.

Enekwechi made the Tokyo 2020 Olympics’ final in the event but could finish in the Eight position.
