It was a beehive of activities on Tuesday at the Nasarawa State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development as the Commissioner, Hon. Jafaru Ango, played host to various organizations who were at his office on a familiarization visit.

Jafaru received the leadership and members of the Sports Writers’ Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Nasarawa State Chapter, led by its Chairman, Smah George.
The meeting, initiated by the Sports Journalists, was part of the new SWAN leadership’s commitment to fostering partnerships with relevant organizations and stakeholders to return the Association to its rightful professional path of excellent sports coverage and reportage.
Joining the Commissioner to receive the delegation were the Permanent Secretary, Chief Barr. Isaac Danladi, and Members of Management of the Ministry. The Commissioner assured the Ministry’s support to the activities of SWAN, urging members to always uphold the professional ethics of the job.
He made a personal donation of One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000.00) to SWAN to support the new leadership’s rebranding efforts.
Similarly, the Commissioner hosted organizers of Miss Culture, Nasarawa, as they plan to stage a maiden Miss Culture Nasarawa Beauty Pageant aimed at showcasing the beauty and talent of contestants and the rich cultural heritage of the State while promoting tourism and engagement.
Hon. Jafaru Ango commended the initiators of the program and disclosed that the Government would support any project aimed at selling the positive image of the State to the world.
Permanent Secretary, Chief Barr. Isaac Danladi, added that the initiative had the capacity to galvanize cultural reawakening and create harmonious living through intercultural bonding, tourism promotion, and social causes.
The Commissioner also received the Crown Queen of the Sarauniya Beauty Pageant, Her Royal Majesty, Sarauniya Otunsha Ogeriya.
The Queen’s visit was to identify with the Government as an indigene of the State and seek support to enable her to carry out some pet projects across Nasarawa State.
Queen Otunsha emerged winner out of 34 other contestants across Nigeria during the National Sarauniya Beauty Pageant Contest held in Kaduna recently. The Commissioner assured that the State Government would accord necessary support to the Queen to actualize the task of her new ambassadorial role in Nigeria.
Earlier, Jafaru Ango attended the Meaningful Adolescent And Youth Engagement (MAYE) summit held at Awa Diamond Hotel, Lafia, facilitated by Society for Family Health through the Nasarawa State Ministry of Health, with the theme, “Amplifying A360’s MAYE Strategy”.
The Commissioner performed the inauguration of the A360’s Youth Network Champions and was later inaugurated as a member of MAYE’s Youth Advisory Committee.
