“Raphael Onyedika Open To Premier League Move Amid Saudi Interest; Prioritizes Development Over Lucrative Offers”

Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika is considering a move away from Club Brugge this summer if the right offer comes along.

The Nigerian international, who joined the Belgian champions two years ago for €10 million, has significantly raised his profile after playing a key role in their 2023/24 Pro League title win.

Reports suggest that an unnamed Saudi Arabian club is interested in acquiring Onyedika, with a transfer fee around €20 million being discussed.

Despite the lucrative offer, Onyedika has indicated that he is not keen on moving to the Middle East at this stage of his career. “I’m not sure the Middle East is the best place for my development at the moment,” he told SportsBoom.

Onyedika is also drawing interest from several Premier League clubs.

The 23-year-old midfielder acknowledges the allure of a move to England, noting that it is a dream for many players.

“These are places that you can’t say no to as a footballer. If they call and everything is right, of course,” he remarked.

During his two years at Brugge, Onyedika has played 91 matches, scoring four goals and providing two assists. He played a pivotal role in Club Brugge’s recent Pro League triumph, contributing significantly during the playoffs.

While flattered by the attention from top clubs, Onyedika remains focused on his performance and has entrusted his agent with the transfer discussions.

“It’s really flattering when you see these names, this calibre of clubs interested in your services,” he said. “But I’m just focused on playing my game.”

Onyedika’s current contract with Club Brugge runs until 2027, and he is open to staying for at least another year if a move does not materialize. He emphasized his commitment to the club’s project and culture, highlighting the opportunity it provides for player development.
