Emeka Nwokolo’s Visit Excites NNB Of C Officials, As NABA Champ Also Splashes Gifts On Amateur Boxers

The visit of North American Boxing Association (NABA) super lightweight champion, Emeka Nwokolo to the office of Nigerian Boxing Board of Control (NBB of C) is still resonating with bolts of excitement among the officials.

This much has been revealed by NBB of C secretary-general, Remi Aboderin, who admitted that it was a great honour for them to receive Nwokolo at their headquarters in Lagos.

Aboderin furher revealed that many amateur boxers that were present at the occasion also smiled home with choice gifts from the son of Los Angeles ’84 Olympic Games silver medalist, Charles Nwokolo (aka Young Dick Tiger).

The NBB of C scribe stated with delight, “We are excited with the exploits of Emeka Nwokolo, The Lion Heart, whose father, Charles Nwokolo, has impacted on him his knowledge and boxing expertise.

“We are happy to see the return of Charles Nwokolo in his son, Emeka, who has taken up the mantle of professional boxing from his father. He is now the WBA/NABA super lightweight champion.

“He is back in the country to pay homage to the Nigeria Boxing Board of Control. He was here to present his belt to the president and leadership of the board.

“We are happy that this young man has taken after his father and is carrying the flag very high. He has given back to the boxing fraternity in this country.

“Some gloves were distributed, and other boxing gifts were given out to some amateur boxers who were present on ground at the secretariat.”

Aboderin enthused that the younger Nwokolo’s visit is a source of inspiration for up and coming Nigerian boxers in both the amateur and professional ranks, as many now aim to achieve what he is currently gaining in America.
