OKOCHA IS MY ROLE MODEL – GYEMINI PETER

Niger Tornadoes midfielder Peter Gyemini Abashiya has expressed appreciation to the management of the Minna based team for the opportunity given to him to be in the match squad for the second time role.

 

Peter Gyemini Abashiya has been a revelation for the Nigeria professional football league outfit, Niger Tornadoes of Minna and has put his name in the Nigeria Professional Football League with a powerful right-footed strike just outside the box in the second-minute that neutralize MFM keeper, Jerry Isaac flat.

 

The midfielder who started his football career with Learning FC of Jos alongside former Plateau United attacker Sunday Ingbede currently playing for Lori FC of Armenia spoke with sports247.ng through Tornadoes media ahead of the midweek clash against Enyimba FC.

“It a wonderful feeling, I did not expect it at this time, I want to thank the coaching crew and the management of Niger Tornadoes for giving me the opportunity to express myself. I made my debut against Katsina United and I just say to myself, I have to go out there and prove to the rest of the world and most especially the coaches.

 

Gyemini further added that “Austin Jay Jay Okocha was my biggest role model growing up and I have his poster on my wall. I remember thinking I wanted to be just like him.”It was a wonderful experience when I scored…. I was very happy and confident. That’s what I want to keep doing scoring goals. I want to be like him and attain the status of one of the Africa’s best in the round leather game.

 

Asking further on how he started his footballing career, Peter said that ” I started with a local team in my area called obedient boys gyel,then to feeder academy and later to an amateur side learning FC Bukuru, Jos after two seasons zamfara united came calling I played for one and half season and I signed for Mighty Jets FC at the beginning of 2016/17 season before I finally joined Niger Tornadoes Football Club, Minna.
It has been my dream to play for Niger Tornadoes and wear this shirt. I’m happy to be here.
