New signing at Shanghai Greenland Shenhua of China, Odion Jude Ighalo is exuding hope for better days and success ahead of him in the Chinese Super League, following his first training session with his latest club.
Sports247.ng can report that Ighalo, who scored 36 goals in 55 games across two seasons with his previous club in China, Changchun Yatai, is hopeful of a better run this time out.
Ighalo was Yatai’s top scorer for two seasons, but his efforts could not save the club from relegation, hence his decision to leave, rather than lose value by plying his trade with the club in the lower division.
Following a move that is said to have cost Shenhua €15m plus two of their Chinese players, Ighalo is now looking on the brighter side of life, as he believes he is destined to make a bigger impact this season.
Ighalo says he is happy to reunite with Spanish tactician, Quique Sánchez Flores at Shenhua, which he believes will help him to settle down fast in the new environment destiny has taken him to.
He stated as much on social media, with his thoughts captured in the symbolic catchy words of two back-to-back posts.
Ighalo stated: “Destiny child on assignment. First Training Session With The Team. #Shanghaishenhua #Ighalo.”
