A historic award recently won by a youthful TikTok influencer, comedian and dancer, Peller (real name Habeeb Hamzat) has left a lasting impact on a 13-year-old emergent footballer, Raheem Salaudeen.
With the world still agog with the heroics of 19-year-old Peller (born in Ikorodu, Lagos on May 10, 2005), Salaudeen considers the youngster as a source of inspiration for all up-and-coming talents, as he keeps shaking social media with his mimickery of local girls.
Although Peller is making his mark in online entertainment and recently reached a high point of over 50,000 viewers on his live stream, Salaudeen believes young footballers can learn from the heroics of Nigeria’s latest kid on the block.
He posited that Nigerian grassroots football players should emulate Peller and learn from what the fast rising content creator has been able to achieve for himself, even as he sets high marks for other internet icons to aspire after.
Indeed, Peller has blazed a trail many kids of his age must be envious of, with more giant strides coming his way since signing a promotions contract with City Plug.
The youngster then launched his comedy series, Peller’s Palava, which has now led to him emerging as winner of ‘Emerging Force’ category at TrendUpp Awards 2024.
In reaction to Peller’s latest feat, Salaudeen, who plays for Buruj Football Club of Lagos, retorted: “We, the young people, really have a lot in us and we should not be carried away with the term Gen-Zee.
“Look at Peller, not minding what anybody is saying, he keeps doing what he feels can show what he has in him.
“While watching his award presentation, I felt that every one of us, who is talented in the area of football, but still see ourselves at the grassroots level, should not get carried away and we must believe in ourselves.
“We need to emulate Peller. He is a great icon who has broken a lot of records, and everything he has achieved is in Nigeria. He only leveraged on technology, backed with hard work and dedication.
“All these factors are really working for him, and I would like everyone of us to emulate his ways.
“We can also get to greater height and change the face of Nigerian football, as he is changing the face of the entertainment industry, which is already doing well, and he is making it better.”
