Former France international and Manchester United forward Louis Saha has expressed his strong desire to see Victor Osimhen don the famous red shirt at Old Trafford.

The Nigerian striker, pivotal in Napoli’s historic Serie A title win last season, has become one of Europe’s most sought-after talents.
Osimhen’s remarkable season in Serie A, where he netted 17 goals and provided three assists despite injury setbacks and international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations, has caught the attention of several top clubs. Alongside Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain are all reportedly monitoring the Super Eagles star.
Napoli, aware of the growing interest, secured Osimhen’s future with a new contract in December, which includes a staggering €130 million release clause. This hefty sum could be a significant obstacle for potential suitors, especially considering Manchester United’s recent investment of over €73 million in Danish striker Rasmus Højlund from Atalanta in 2023.
Despite these financial hurdles, Saha remains hopeful that Manchester United will make a bold move for Osimhen. He believes the 24-year-old’s attributes are reminiscent of legendary strikers David Trezeguet and Ruud van Nistelrooy, both renowned for their lethal finishing and knack for attracting the ball.
“My dream summer signing would be Victor Osimhen from Napoli,” Saha stated to Gambling Zone. “He would really fit the bill at Old Trafford. If I were them, I’d be doing everything to try and get him from Napoli.”
Saha praised Osimhen’s relentless work ethic and sharp instincts in front of goal. “His attitude, his work rate, he is so good in front of goal. He has a belief and confidence that reminds me of David Trezeguet or Ruud van Nistelrooy, strikers who attract the ball to their feet. Proper strikers are dying, but it’s easy to see that Osimhen is one of them.”
As the transfer window progresses, it remains to be seen whether Manchester United will heed Saha’s call and make a serious bid for Osimhen. The potential addition of such a dynamic forward could significantly bolster United’s attacking options as they aim to reclaim their dominance in English and European football.
