Oleksandr Usyk, the world heavyweight champion, has announced that he will be giving up his IBF title, making room for Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois to compete for it.

Usyk defeated Tyson Fury on points to become the undisputed champion, holding the WBC, WBA, WBO, and IBF titles.
He has now declared that, in front of Joshua and Dubois’ fight at Wembley Stadium on September 21, he will give up his IBF title.
Through his Instagram account, the Ukrainian boxer made the announcement.
“Hello Daniel Dubois, Anthony Joshua, this is my gift to you for September 21, 2024: the IBF Belt.” Strong people are adored by the world. your friend, Oleksandr Usyk, the undefeated heavyweight champion of the world.” Usyk wrote.
Dubois, who Usyk defeated last year, holds an IBF Interim belt. He would have been the mandatory challenger for Usyk, who is contracted to rematch Fury, a fight which has been fixed for December of this year.
