School Sports will Divert their Energy Away From Social Vices – NSSF Tasks Parents to Encourage Children

The Nigeria School Sport Federation (NSSF) has urged parents and guardians to help their children embrace sports.

Speaking at the 24th Nestle Milo Secondary School Basketball Championships in Lagos, NSSF President Olabisi Joseph underlined that sports assist children develop their psychomotor abilities and contribute to a holistic education.

Joseph stressed the necessity of not only focusing on academic performance but also including athletics into a child’s growth.

She applauded Nestle Nigerian Plc’s dedication to the annual championships, which have regularly produced exceptional athletes for the country.

The Milo School Basketball Championship, now in its 26th year, has established itself as a shining example of excellence, cultivating grassroots basketball talent while also teaching young Nigerian students valuable life skills.

By planning an encompassing national final event that incorporates sports, education, culture, and inclusivity, the NSSF hopes to carry on its innovative approach.

Biometrics, age-appropriate events, screening, and data collection make guarantee that school-age children who qualify make it to the finals.

Joseph urged other corporate companies to collaborate with the NSSF to offer kids great sports experiences that will deflect their attention from social vices.
