The Lagos Chapter of the Nigeria Ex-Internationals Cup organised by Lagos State Football Association has set the football community buzzing with excitements and untold joy.
Soccer fans and stakeholders in various communities where the matches are played, have been expressing their gratitude to the organisers of the epochal tournament for bringing their heroes and legends back to the limelight.
From the 32 teams led by these stars that started the journey onwards to the promised land, 16 teams have been eliminated.
While the remaining sixteen have continued the battle for the grand prize, as the tournament gradually moves towards the home stretch.
Games in the rounds of 16 began Saturday with FC Agbai thrashing FC Oloyede 3-0 in the first leg played at Legacy pitch.
While on Monday, FC Enegwae defeated FC Ekpo 2-0 in the first leg played at the Maracana Stadium, Ajegunle.
Other matches in the rounds of 16, continues on Wednesday, June 19. And four matches have been slated to hold across three different centres in Lagos.
In some of the matches, FC Ikpeba would do battle with FC Ipaye, by 9am, at the Legacy pitch, Surulere and it would be quickly followed by the match between FC Nwosu, who had a bye to the rounds of sixteen, tackling FC Amoo, for a spot in the quarter-finals, also at the same venue.
The first game of the day, however, would be between FC Ugbade and FC Dominic, holding by 8am at Nitel Training Ground, Oshodi.
And for the last game of the day, the train would move to Nigerian Navy Playing Ground, Ajegunle, where FC Udeze would play host to FC Okpara, by 3pm.
