The 8th National Youth Games, tagged Asaba 2024, will witness a thrilling male soccer encounter between Team Delta and Team Edo State.
The renewal of the Edo/Delta rivalry is scheduled for this Friday at 12 noon at Saint Patrick’s College, Asaba.
Team Delta, comprising players from selected football academies, will face a more organized Team Edo State, featuring players from the Bendel Insurance academy, which competes in the Nigerian Professional Football League youth league.
Team Delta will be led by Head Coach Godons Ogbe and Felix Onigbe, who anticipate a challenging but interesting fixture against Team Edo State’s head coach, Osayomore Aghahowa, and former Saudi ’89 World Cup key player, Tony Emodofu, popularly known as Poropo.
This knockout encounter promises to be an exciting display of young talent, as both teams battle for supremacy in the soccer event.
