No fewer than 60 teams are expected to participate in this year’s Oba Akran Cup scheduled to kick off next month.
The competition is organised by Badagry Divisonal Football Association to mark the birthday of The Akran of Badagry,De Aholu Menu-Toyi 1 which comes up later in the year.
Chairman Badagry Divisional Football Association,BDFA,Dr Osondu Martins confirmed to sports 247.ng that over 60 club owners have shown interest in the competition saying that this year’s edition has received tremendous support from some football stakeholders in Badagry.
“Presently we have more than 60 teams that are ready for Oba Akran Cup and we are impressed with the numbers of teams showing interest in the competition.
“This is a competition that play across six centres in our division and we promise all the teams equal treatment during the tournament,”he said.
Martins said the draw ceremony would hold on July 8, Saturday at the Oba Akran palace and urged the interested clubs to come for their registration forms before the weekend.
