Ikeja Divisional Football Association IDFA, has announced the sum of N600,000 for the finalists of the forthcoming Manufacturers’ Cup.
Speaking with sports 247.ng, the IDFA boss, Alhaji Rafiu Alagbe confirmed that the winners of this year Manufacturers’ cup would go home with the sum of N400,000 with a giant trophy, while the first runner up would pocket N200,000.
The former LSDPC coach explained that registration is still in progress and urged interested clubs to come and pick their registration forms.
“Club owners are coming for their registration forms but we need more clubs from all and sundry across the divisions to come and pick forms. We are starting the competition October and any club that fails to submit their registration forms within the stipulated time will be disqualified,”he said.
Alagbe disclosed that the division is working round the clock to get sponsors for the competition.
He added that they have submitted some proposal to some undisclosed companies and individuals noted that if they get sponsorship deal from anyone of them, the price money may be increase and participating teams would be compensated.
Manufacturer’s cup is a popular football competition not only in Ikeja but Lagos as a whole.We are doing everything to get sponsor for the competition so that the best teams in the state would be involve in the competition.I am confident that before we start the competition, something positive would come out and we let the club owners and media know about it,”he said.
The IDFA boss however congratulated the winners of last Ikeja DFA Super League, Kotech FC and Bucknor FC who also emerged as champions of Ikeja DFA championship.
He also reminded the club owners and coaches importance of discipline in the club and urged them to continue inculcate core values in the lives of their players.
Meanwhile Dynamic Football Club of Mushin was champion of 2021 Manufacturers’Cup competition having defeated all comers in the edition that witnessed over 42 clubs across Lagos State.
Manufacturers’ Cup Competition is a knock out tournament open to all categories of clubs within the Division and beyond, NPFL, NNL, NLO, Divisional and grassroot football clubs are eligible to participate in the annual championship.
