A member of the cricket team from Kaduna State, Sylvester Okpe has declared that his side will beat Lagos State to emerge gold medalists in the event at the National Sports Festival.
Casting a look ahead of Friday’s final in Abuja, Okpe told sports247.ng that Team Kaduna have what it takes to silence their rivals from Lagos.
As both states get set to lock horns in the final at the cricket oval, Okpe, who is also the captain of Nigeria’s under-19 team, said he and his colleagues from The City of Crocodiles will go all out for gold.
Okpe stressed: “We are thinking only of the gold medal at the National Sports Festival, and I am sure we will get in on Friday.
“We will ensure Lagos is defeated in the final because we have come this far and the gold medal is what we are aiming at.
“I have a lot of respect for the Lagos team, because some of my national teammates are there, but victory will be for Kaduna come Friday.”
