The much awaited 4th instalment of the Sandie Easter Beach Rugby is set to bring excitement to the coastal community of Takwa Bay and Lagos where lovers of the sport will witness some rugby actions this Easter Sunday.
The event which has been a great rendezvous for followers of rugby will see a selection of teams put up engaging contests as players will tumble and rumble by the seaside.
Organiser of the Sandie Easter Beach Rugby said the event offers holidaymakers, families and tourists alike an opportunity to enjoy the sport in a calm and serene atmosphere where fun and excitement would not be in short supply.
Initiator of the Sandie Easter Beach Rugby Tubosun Johnson said this edition would offers “Lagosians” an avenue to take a break from the busy settings of Lagos and get-away to the beach and enjoy some nature with rugby during the Easter celebrations.
“You know, this is the Easter Holiday and for a place like Lagos where people work and move every minute, it’s important that people pause, relax and feel the other side of the city. So what we are trying to do”, he continued, “is to use this period to promote the game of rugby which is an exciting global sport while people catch their fun as well.”
He added that the Sandie Easter Beach Rugby is organising the event as a way of sustaining the development of the sport despite the challenges.
He urged holidaymakers, lovers of the sport and fun-seekers to tick the date on their calendar attend the event this Easter Sunday.
He thanked the Nigerian Breweries PLC, Nigerians in diaspora organization, Legend, Famboss Ltd, Mariteam Nigeria Ltd and Whassan NG Ltd for backing the Sandie Beach Rugby over the years.
