Coach of 3SC, Gbenga Ogunbote conveyed his belief that his team would have clinched the maximum points if not for carelessness and the red card issued to skipper Malomo Taofeek.
This was during a post-match analysis following the intense clash between Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan and Kwara United in Ilorin on Sunday.
Despite being on the verge of securing three points against Kwara United, the Oluyole Warriors saw their lead erased with a minute left to full time.
Expressing his views on the match day eight encounter played inside the main bowl of the Kwara State Sports Complex, the 3SC tactician voiced his displeasure at the late equalizer conceded by his team and the expulsion of his player.
Nevertheless, he found consolation in the points earned by his team.

“We were a little bit careless, managing the game up till 90 minutes. But be it as it may, it’s a consolation; we never laboured in vain,” stated Ogunbote, highlighting the impact of the red card on their strategy.
While acknowledging the challenges posed by Nigerian players when faced with a red card scenario, Gbenga Ogunbote indicated his intention to address this issue seriously in the future.
Asked about the secret behind his team’s consistent performance in Ilorin, the Coach of 3SC attributed it to hard work, debunking any notion of magic.
According to him, “It is not magic; it is hard work. What I aspire for is a level playing ground. If I lose, I will know that I have not done enough.”
The gaffer, fondly referred to as the Oracle, concluded by reiterating that his target in every match is to secure a victory, emphasizing his determination to work tirelessly towards that goal.
