Technical Adviser of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), Gbenga Ogunbote, has expressed confidence in his team’s readiness for the demanding challenges ahead in the second round of the 2024/25 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.

“I think we do not need anybody to tell us that it is going to be a very tough second round, even though the first round was equally challenging. Our position in the first round will surely attract a lot of challenges, but we have been able to tell our players, and I am sure they are aware of that too,” said Ogunbote.

The coach, popularly known as “The Oracle,” highlighted the need for relentless effort. “Everything we need to do is to be on our toes, to make sure that we give in our best to ensure that we represent the team and the state very well,” he added.

Ogunbote also revealed that steps are being taken to address shortcomings from the first half of the season, with plans to strengthen the squad. “We are still on the move, and until we have the papers, we cannot yet say we have one. We are working on it, but I’m sure very soon, by this weekend, we must have gotten a few fresh legs joining the team.”

The tactician expressed delight at the players’ enthusiasm during their first session after the break. “I am very happy with the turnout of the players for today’s resumption. Even though we are still expecting some of them, I must confess, I’m impressed with what I saw today,” said the former coach of Sunshine Stars and Rangers International.

He also appealed to supporters and fans of the club to intensify their support in the second round. “While I appreciate their support so far, I urge them to give more to the team as we strive to make them proud,” Ogunbote concluded.

The Oluyole Warriors are determined to make a strong push in the latter half of the season and continue their positive campaign in the NPFL.
