The maiden edition of the Governor Dapo Abiodun Pre Season Tournament will come to an end today with Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, taking on Delta Force.
Thirteen teams took part in the tourney, six from the NPFL and seven from the NNL but 11 others fell by the wayside, leaving only 3SC and Delta Force for the final.
The two sides, will take to the pitch of the Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu-Ode, for the grand finale, billed to kick off at 4.00pm.
To get this far, 3SC emerged tops of Group B to qualify for the last four, where they walloped Lobi Stars 5-0, while Delta Force topped Group C, to make it to the semi final, where there managed to beat Kano Pillars 1-0.
Meanwhile, tournament’s general coordinator, Oye Bawala, said arrangement for a hitch free grand finale, has been put in place by the organisers.
“We are very happy to have had a smooth tournament from day one to this final day, it has really been exciting.
“Don’t forget this is the maiden edition, there could be some lapses here and there, we see it as a foundation for future editions, by and large, we are happy it is ending on a good note”, stated Bawala,
