Chairman 36 Lion Football Club, Liameed Gafar has explained the real reasons why his team crashed out in the ongoing WGB Lagos FA Cup.
36 Lion suffered 0-3 in the hands of NNL team, Ottasolo FC this morning in the round of 16 at the FIFA legacy pitch of National stadium, Surulere.
Gafar in a chat with Sports247 disclosed that his players gave their best but they were unlucky to have lost the game.
“We had our chances in the first half but we could not utilize them. Despite the defeat, my boys played to my expectations and I congratulate them for the job well done,” he said.
Some of the fans who spoke to our correspondent said both teams played but the better side won the game.
Ottasolo assistant coach, Seyi Abidemi said he won the game by counterattack and boasted that his team have what it takes to win the FA Cup.
“Of course, we are targeting the trophy but we need to take the game one after the other. We are in the quarter-final and we want to win our remaining matches,” he said.
In the latest result, Sporting FC defeated Gloriousday 4-3 on penalties after a barren draw in the regulation time.
