30 Women Coaches Advance in CAF C-License Course As Second Module Concludes in Abuja

A group of 30 women coaches have intensified their journey towards obtaining the CAF C-License as they complete the second module of a comprehensive three-part coaching course in Abuja.

The course, which kicked off last month at the NFF/FIFA Technical Centre located in the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, is designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of these women, equipping them to contribute significantly to football coaching in Nigeria.

The first module of the course, which ran from July 15th to 25th, provided the coaches with foundational knowledge and was immediately followed by a two-week internship at various football clubs.

This hands-on experience allowed the participants to apply what they had learned in real-world settings, under the supervision of experienced coaches.

The second module commenced on Monday and will conclude on Friday, August 16th. NFF Technical Director, Augustine Eguavoen, who is overseeing the program, expressed satisfaction with the participants’ progress, stating, “We are generally impressed by the discipline, dedication, and commitment of the coaches to the entire program.”

Following the completion of this second phase, the participants will once again engage in a two-week internship from August 23rd to September 4th, allowing them to further refine their skills in a practical environment.

The final module, scheduled for September 9th to 19th, will culminate in examinations that will test the participants’ grasp of the course material and their readiness to earn the CAF C-License.

The course is led by a distinguished team of educators, including Dr. Terry Babatunde Eguaoje, NFF’s Head of Education, alongside esteemed coaches Isah Ladan Bosso, Wemimo Olanrewaju, and Lawrence Ndaks. Among the participants are former Super Falcons’ stars such as Precious Dede, Joy Jegede, and Gloria Ofoegbu, alongside other notable figures in Nigerian football, including retired FIFA referee Folusho Ajayi and Barrister Victoria Nlemigbo.

This initiative marks a significant step forward in developing female football coaching talent in Nigeria, with the hope that these trained coaches will inspire and nurture the next generation of football stars.
