Crown Football Club of Ogbomoso commenced brightly, their campaign in the 2nd Edition of Governor Dapo Abiodun Preseason Football Competition ongoing in Ijebu Ode by silencing Godosky Football Club by a lone goal.
The much technically sound game started with both sides displaying good ball possessions, accurate passes, and brilliant defending.
The combinations of Adeyemi Adeyeye, Elvis Ori, and Tobi Adeyi saw a more midfield solidified Crown FC with Effiong Itoro and Odudu Sunday pressurizing the defence line of the host with their pace and sharp turns at the flanks.
The host would have put the Ajilete Warriors on their toes in the thirty-fifth (35th) minute into play but for the intervention of Adeniyi Adejare, the skipper and goalkeeper of Crown FC who saved that brilliant shot at the very far angle.
The first half ended with none of the teams being able to find the back of the net.
The substitutions of Adeyemi Adeyeye and Bathlomeu Daniel for Moses Mustapha and Godspower Igbah in the fifty-fourth (54th) minute changed the tempo of the game, seeing the Ajilete Warriors play a more coordinated game.
Tayo Johnson intercepted a final pass to locate Moses Mustapha who after dribbling two passed the ball to Sunday Odudu. He made a well-tailored lob, in the sixty-fourth (64th) minute to Tobi Adeyi whose superb header put the goalkeeper of the east side in a helpless situation to put the Ajilete Warriors on the lead.
Adeniyi Adejare, in goal for Crown FC, was so fantastic to deny many efforts of the host at scoring.
The game ended with one goal in favour of Crown FC.
Crown FC will tomorrow Thursday 19th November 2020 by 7 am, play host to MFM FC at the Training Pitch 1 of the Otunba Dapo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu Ode.
