“We don’t want to be under undue pressure. We are very confident that Edo Queens will qualify for the Super 6. What we want now is the trophy to show to the government that we are not ungrateful. On behalf of the entire team, I want to say that we are sorry for what transpired in Ekiti.
“It is very painful that we lost 1-0 to Ekiti Queens. I don’t understand what went wrong. We had confidence that we were going there to secure the three points, but it turned out to be the opposite.
“I want to beg our teeming supporters not to lose confidence in us. We have two more crucial games to go before the Super 6. We are ready to play our hearts out to make sure we qualify for the Super 6. Most importantly, I want to say that our target is to win the league and represent Nigeria at the continental level.
“The players are motivated by the keen desire to play in the Super 6. We have no reason not to qualify. We missed it last season, but this time round we are not going to let it pass us bye. We are battle ready for Remo Stars Ladies, and Delta Queens FC.”
She also commended the Chairman of Edo State Sports Commission, Olympian Yusuf Ali, for his magnanimity towards the club, promising that the team will go all out to make him proud by qualifying for the Super 6 and also winning the league.
“Sir we are very sorry for losing our last game away in Ekiti. We really did our best, only God knows why it went the other way. But I promise that we would make up for it in our next two games. It is going to be a game of win or bust.
“Please, we still appeal for your continued support sir. We have really enjoyed your leadership as Chairman of Edo State Sports Commission. We have never had it so smooth. We are very happy working under you sir. Don’t leave us alone we need more support.”
