2024 BSAFCON: CAF President, Motsepe happy with Africa’s Stride As Seychelles Host 2025 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup

The Confédération Africaine de Football (“CAF”) President Dr Patrice Motsepe is happy with the development and growth of Beach Soccer in all 54 CAF Member Associations as the world attention will be on the continent for the 2025 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, Sports247 reports.

Speaking at the CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations Egypt 2024 Final in Hurghada where Senegal claimed their record fifth title against debutants Mauritania, Dr Motsepe said it was important to encourage more African countries to play regular and competitive Beach Soccer in order to ensure that African Beach Soccer is globally competitive.

Senegal defeated Mauritania 6-1 on Saturday to win 2024 CAF Beach Soccer Africa Of Nations to make it five in the last six editions.

Seychelles hosts the historic FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in May 2025 a credence to the giants strides in growth and development of the game on the continent.

Dr Motsepe said it is important that the quality and standard of African Beach Soccer is globally competitive.

CAF President Dr Motsepe also gave credit to hosts, Egypt who finished fourth in the tournament after losing to Morocco in the third and fourth play-off.

“On behalf of the 54 Member Associations of CAF, I express my gratitude to Egypt for hosting a very successful CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations Egypt 2024. I congratulate Senegal for winning the competition and also Mauritania for reaching the Final on their first attempt. I wish Senegal and Mauritania all of the very best as they will be representing Africa in the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Seychelles 2025.”

Meanwhile, the Teranga Lions showcased their superior skill and experience, in the final adding yet another accolade to their impressive record in the sport.

The match, filled with intensity and action, saw Senegal’s technical prowess and experience shine through.

Despite Mauritania’s spirited fight, they were ultimately overwhelmed by the attacking power of the reigning champions.

Senegal’s robust defence and clinical finishing quickly created a gap in the scoreline, solidifying their continental supremacy.

This victory not only secures Senegal’s place as Africa’s top beach soccer team but also grants them another ticket to the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Seychelles.

With this win, Senegal heads to the world stage brimming with confidence and a competitive spirit that has once again propelled them to the pinnacle of African beach soccer.
