2024/2025 NPFL: Kano Pillars Unveil 12 New Signings, Retain 20

Kano Pillars FC, the four-time champions of the Nigeria Premier Football League, has officially unveiled their new players for the upcoming 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, season, Sports 247 reports.

In a well attended unveiling ceremony which took place at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Wednesday, September 4th, 2024, the club’s Chairman, Alhaji Ali Muhammad Na Yara Mai Samba, along with his board members introduced the new Masu Gudans to the fans.

” The club has strategically added twelve new players to the squad, addressing key positions identified as areas of need. These signings underscore Kano Pillars FC’s determination to strengthen their team and reclaim their dominance in the league” stated a club statement.

A trio of goalkeepers were unveiled as Kano Pillars captured Chukwuemeka Oniya from Rangers International, Abuchi Okeke from Sokoto United, and Charles Tembe from Remo Stars.

The defense was reinforced with Mustapha Jibrin, a right-back from Niger Tornadoes, Ugochwukwu Gabriel from Wikki Tourists FC, Nelso Abiam from Doma United, and Alhassan Rashid from Karela United, Ghana.

In the attack, Kano Pillars added Zulkifilu Muhammed from Rangers International and Sudais Ali Baba, a striker from FC Trollhättan in Sweden while they are expected to get passes from midfield as Bright Emmanuel from Solution FC, while Akpesiri Naibe were added.

They also brought over wing wizard, Emmanuel Anaful from relegated Sporting Lagos.

The club also confirmed retention of twenty players from the previous season, in what the managers of the club described as a blend of experienced and fresh talent which will foster healthy competition within the squad which is vital for the club’s ambitions.

Kano Pillars will commence their 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League season with a home match against newly promoted Ikorodu City of Lagos on Sunday, September 8th, 2024 at the Muhammad Dikko Stadium in Katsina due to the renovation work going on at the Sani Abacha stadium, their traditional home.
