Ahead of the 2024/2025 Nigeria National League, NNL, Coach Gafar Mohammed of First Bank FC has set his eyes on getting one of the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, tickets on offer, Sports 247 reports.
In an exclusive chat with Sports 247, the First Bank coach confirmed his personal target of promoting the team into the NPFL at the end of season which will begin on Saturday, November 30, 2024.

Coach Gafar confirmed that the ultimate aim of the management of the club is to play in the top tier of Nigeria League and they are providing everything in terms of support to ensure the team stay motivated to compete for one of the NPFL promotion tickets the NNL offers.
Coach Gafar Mohammed said the team preparations are going according to plan, with lots of preseason matches, he believed the team will be ready for the task ahead before the kick off of the NNL 2024/2025 season.
“Yeah, as you can see the preparations are going on fine with lots of preseason matches and I think that will equip us to be ready for the season as soon as the ball starts rolling, as soon as the league kicks off, we are set” Coach Gafar Mohammed opens on their preparations ahead of the season.
He spoke further, on the personal target and management for the season, “I am an ambitious coach and I want to be up there, you know, because I know what it takes to be there, so definitely the management wants to be there also, So I want to try as much as possible to compete well, not just to partake”, Coach Gafar told Sports247.
First Bank FC will be playing in the Southern Conference Group B alongside Inter Lagos, Smart City, Beyond Limits, Godswill Akpabio FC, Edel FC, Igbajo United, Rovers FC and Abia Comets.
According to the Groupings released after the draws after AGM in Bauchi last Saturday, the Southern Conference Group A comprises; Sporting Lagos, Madiba FC, 1472 FC, Gateway United, Dakkada FC, Solution FC, Osun United, Warri Wolves and Kun Khalifa.
In the Northern Conference, Group C has Sokoto United, Gombe United, Wikki Tourists, Uejele FC, Malatarki FC, Emalex FC, Kada Warriors, Crown FC and Basira FC.
While the group D Northern Conference consists of Kebbi United, Doma United, Yobe Stars, Coal City, Sporting Supreme, Adamawa United, Mighty Jets FC, Barau FC and Zamfara United.
First Bank FC will be playing in the 2024 Nigeria Nationwide League One Cup, NLO Cup, Intensifying their preparations ahead of the NNL season.
