Captain of Nigeria Customs Service (women’s) beach volleyball team, Tochukwu Nnoruga has revealed the motivation behind the team’s semi final progression in the 2023 President Beach Volleyball Cup.
She admitted that she had once lost to this same opponent in times past and that bitter defeat spurred her on to make sure that she wins next time against them and she’s glad that the day is finally here.
“I feel so good, it’s a surreal feeling as it wasn’t an easy match, the opponents were so stubborn and they beat me and my partner Isabella the last time we played them in Delta State.”
“Following that loss, I vowed that these girls will never beat me again and I’m so glad we were able to win here, all thanks to God for the strength.”
Aiming for her third title as captain of the team, Nnoruga who believes she can achieve such feat in the President Beach Volleyball Cup said;
“I came here to win and not to lose, so this will be my third gold medal that I will be taking away at the end of this event”.
“With good training, I believe me and my partner will do better in Ghana,” she said when quizzed about if she has what it takes to make an impact in the upcoming African Games in Ghana.
