Super Falcons defender, Glory Ogbonna has revealed all there is to know about the team’s level of preparedness ahead of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup event as she want fans to dream big of how far Nigeria can go in the competition.
Ahead of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup event which is scheduled to take place in Australia and New Zealand, Super Falcons have been in full preparation for the event as they recently defeated Haiti and host New Zealand in a friendly game in Antalya, Turkey.
Assessing the team’s results and performances, Glory Ogbonna gave a detailed insight on how the momentum is building in the camp in an exclusive interview with Sports247.ng.
“We played friendly games which is a sort of preparation for the World Cup, we have played Haiti and won, we played New Zealand and we won it too.”
“That mentality will keep us going because the focus is all about victory, getting in shape, building ourselves ahead of the big event, trying to execute our pattern of play for the eventual World Cup event where we will give a very good account of ourselves,” she assured.
‘We will keep the spirit going like that, we are preparing because we know how big the World Cup is. A lot is expected of us but nevertheless, we are upping our preparations.”
“Nigerians should expect good outing from us because we are fully ready which is so obvious in our last two games where we got some positive results.”
“So now, we want to keep the fire burning in that way till when we get to the actual World Cup games,” Ogbonna stated.
