The dream and aspiration of Bendel Insurance Football Club Feeders to play in Nigeria’s league have come to fruition as they picked Nationwide League 3 promotion ticket in the Yenagoa zone with ease, after walking over their opponents.
The Young Benin Arsenals will be playing in the NLO2 in 2023 football season after securing the lower league ticket without a fight during a 5-day playoffs which ended on Saturday, September 17,2022.
It was an easy ride for the Young Benin Arsenals on Friday afternoon at the Samson Siasia stadium, Yenagoa when they filed out in readiness for the game against Rivers Blue,
only to be informed by the host FA Secretary and match officials about the inability of their opponents from Rivers state to honour the match, resulting to walk over.
Five teams, one each from Enugu, Cross River, Abia, Rivers and Edo, were however
expected to fight for the sole ticket of the Yenagoa zone but none of them eventually showed up, leaving the slot for Bendel Insurance FC Feeders who were the only team available for the playoff.
Reacting to the development, the head coach of Insurance Feeders Stanley Osazee popularly called coach Sheyi said it was a dream come true for him and his team.
“I am happy that we got the tick with ease but we were well prepared for the challenge. Playing in the NLO2 will further help our boys to develop faster and better. Let me thank Insurance FC management led by the General Coordinator Mrs Sabina Chikere for her pragmatic leadership. Special thanks to our chairman the sports loving Deputy Governor of Edo state Rt Hon Comrade Philip Shaibu who makes things work for us.
