Team manager of FC Bethel, Seyi Jones has expressed confidence that his team have what it takes to reach this year’s semi-final 2022 LSFA/WBG Lagos FA Cup.
The much anticipated Lagos FA Cup would kick off on 23 May across various centers in the state.
Jones while chatting with our correspondent in Lagos said his team are in good shape and they are ready to go far in this year’s Lagos FA Cup.
He explained that having lost out in the first round of the FA Cup last year, he said his target for this year’s edition is to see FC Bethel be among the top four clubs in the semi-final stage.
“FA Cup is a big tournament that is coming and FC Bethel would be among the clubs that would reach the final stage. We did not do well last year but we are fully prepared to go far and I strongly believe in what the team are capable of,” he said.
As part of their preparation for the FA Cup, FC Bethel would clash with Broad City on Wednesday morning in a friendly match scheduled for the FIFA legacy pitch of National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
Jones said his team would engage in some top-friendly matches to keep the players fitter and mentally prepared for the Lagos FA Cup.
Meanwhile, the organizers disclosed that all clubs duly registered for the 2019/2020 Lagos FA Cup that was not played due to the COVID-19 pandemic are exempted from payment of registration but must be affiliated to date 2021/2022 with LSFA
