Secretary General of the Nigeria boxing board of control and the president of West Africa boxing union, Remi Aboderin is excited over the recorded successes boxing witnessed in Nigeria in 2022 as he looks forward to the final intercontinental bout with hope that next year will be better for the boxers, promoters, fans and major stakeholders alike.
Aboderin reminisced back on the year ahead of the crucial continental bout, “the year 2022 has been a very good year for pro boxing in Nigeria in the year were we witnessed several boxing shows like never before.”
“Our boxers have participated in national and international title bouts and they are getting worthy renumeration but still it can be better,” he further said.
“Also, we will soon be wrapping up the year with an intercontinental title fight between Nigerian Sahu Agbaje and Richard. This show is being staged by the biggest boxing promotional name in Nigeria that is Fly Kite promotions.”
“We are believing that the Nigerian representative will make the country proud by defeating his opponent so that he will be a shining light to other Nigerian boxers and they will look up to him and believe that if they also put enough of thier time in training and all other things that contributes to the trade or boxing, they will equally excel.”
“We’ve had a very good year in 2022 but you see man is always looking forward to better things so we are hoping that the year 2023 will be better than the year 2022 in all ramifications,” Aboderin concluded.
