Remo Stars have bowed out of the 2022/23 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League despite a late comeback as Medeama SC Downs debutant in thrilling penalty shoot out at Ikenne.
The Sky Blue Stars lost 1-0 in the first leg of the encounter with Ghanian Champions Medeama SC in Ghana as they make thier debut in the CAF Champions League.
Daniel Ogunmodede’s side had turned the deficit in the dying minutes of the encounter to stretch the game until the very end although Remo Stars were denied a second goal after it was controversially ruled out for offside.
The game then went on penalty shoot out after the 1-0 result in regulation time but Medeama SC displayed thier superiority with a 2-3 victory to progress onto the next round.
The Ikenne based club have now joined Enyimba who were earlier kicked out by Libya opponent Benghazi at the Enyimba International stadium, Aba after a goalless draw.
