The management of Rangers International F.C has approved a three-week break for its coaches and players as the 2022/2023 football season ended mid-week with the final match of the NFF-TINGO Federation Cup which it narrowly lost to old-rivals, Bendel Insurance F.C in Asaba.
Administrative Secretary of the six-time champions of the oldest club competition, Barrister Ferdinand Ugwuarua, made this announcement while addressing the players, coaches and other back-room staff at the club’s players camp, Independence Layout, Enugu, Thursday.

The youthful administrator, while thanking everybody for the various roles played in the ended season that saw the team get as far as the final of a national competition, stated that the camp of the players will be closed on Friday, June 23, 2023, for renovation works to be re-opened on Friday, July 14, 2023.
Players with running contracts are expected back in camp on Sunday, July 16, 2023, while training sessions for the 2023/2024 football season which has been fixed to commence in August, shall kick start on Monday, July 17, 2023.
“I wish to thank you all for your efforts in the ended season that saw us play in the final of a national competition which we narrowly lost and also maintain our status in the premiership. As the season come to a close, management wishes all that will be traveling to their various destinations a safe trip while those expected back when the new season commences are urged to double their efforts for a better season, 2023/2024,” said the administrative secretary.
Various speakers at the gathering thanked management, coaches, players, and backroom staff for a successfully concluded season while dreaming of a much better season that is scheduled to kick off in August 2023.
