Edith Agoye, head coach of Sunshine Stars has saluted his player’s bravery to come back from a goal down and salvage a point in the thrilling 1-1 encounter against Remo Stars as they pick their second point of the 2022/2023 NPFL Championship play-off campaign on match day three at the Mobolji Johnson, Onikan Lagos Arena.

Remo Stars had taken the lead after a well-worked team goal going into half-time, upon resumption for the second half, Sunshine Stars wasted no time to get a goal of their own to restore parity, the goal proved to be crucial as the Ikenne-based club couldn’t find a winner with both teams eventually sharing the spoils much to the delight of Edith Agoye.
“The players fought back from nothing and were able to get something, thankfully enough, we now have a point plus the one had in the previous game which still makes us very alive to compete,” a delighted Edith stated to the press after the game.
“We know we have to push for the continental spots by winning all remaining games but sometimes when you are down, and you get a little victory, you have to celebrate that and hope for a better next outing,” he said.
