2022/2023 EPL Round 3: Iwobi Against Awoniyi Ends In Draw, Aribo’s Southampton Outfox Ndidi Luckless Leicester, Dennis Forest Debut Put On Hold; Battle Of The Nigerians

Iwobi’s Everton who have been languishing in the relegation zone got thier first point of the season against Taiwo Awoniyi’s Nottingham Forest following a late equaliser by Gray at Goodison Park, the epic battle of Nigerians for thier respective clubs couldn’t have been more better with thrilling actions.

Alex Iwobi who was very instrumental to Everton staying up last season has been a regular under Frank Lampard and it was no surprise to see him in the starting lineup as thier survival battle continues.

Awoniyi who grabbed the headlines For Forest in Round 2 scoring the only goal and first in Twenty two years against Westham also kept his spot but was replaced in the 61st minute as both teams shared the spoils.

Ndidi and Iheanacho’s Leicester woeful run continues as they lost to Aribo’s Southampton in a nervy 2-1 scoreline contest.

Despite taking the lead in the 54th minute through James Madison beauty, Southampton came from a goal down to snatch all three points at Kings Power Stadium.

The Foxes have lost two games in three, one draw which was the opener against Brentford with goal deficit. They are far a shadow of the team they were last season following thier impressive run in the first edition of the Europa Conference League.

Tosin Adarabioyo continues his impressive form and start with Fulham as they grabbed all three points against Frank Onyeka’s Brentford with the former Manchester City starlet commanding the backline.

Both Frank Onyeka and Emmanuel Dennis were spectators, although named on the bench for Brentford and Nottingham Forest respectively as substitute, neither of them was subbed on.

Dennis may probably have to wait a little while for his Nottingham Forest debut since the switch from Championship side, Watford.
