The coach of Nigeria Customs Service Volleyball Club men’s team, Jonah Adamu says his side will not underrate any team at the 2021 Volleyball Premier League in Ilorin.
Nigeria Customs Service beat UCEM of Enugu 3-1 (25-23, 21-25, 25-12, 25-16) in the opening match of the ongoing first phase of the 2021 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League at the University of Ilorin, Kwara State.
Adamu said every team present at the league is a threat to the title defense of his side.
He said, “I told the players not to underrate any team at this year’s Nigeria Volleyball Premier League. There is no small club at the league and everyone is here to prove a point.
“The game against UCEM of Enugu could have ended 3-0 but the team did not put in more effort in the second set. The coaching crew had to have a talk with the players and you could see the difference in the third and fourth set”.
Adamu said Nigeria Customs Service is targeting a treble this season.
“Our intention is to retain the title and make it a treble. I know we are going to be the first team to achieve such a feat after the revival of the league”, he added.
