Following the unpleasant loss to Bayelsa United in the final of the 2021 Men’s Aiteo Federation Cup at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City, Edo State, on Sunday, Chairman of Nasarawa United FC, Barr. Isaac Danladi, has apologised to the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, and the entire supporters of the Solid Miners both in the State and beyond.
In his reaction made available to the Club’s Media Unit, the Chairman said:
“It Is With Heavy Heart But Total Submission To The Will Of The Almighty God That I, On Behalf Of The Management, Players , Officials, Supporters And Fans Of Our Dearly Beloved Club, Nasarawa United FC Wish To Apologize To The Government And Good People Of Nasarawa State For Our Inability To Win The 2021 Aiteo Cup As Expected, Despite Our Near-Miss From The First Three Slots Of The NPFL Season.
“All The Available Odds In The Just Concluded 2020/2021 League Season And The Aiteo Cup Favoured Nasarawa United To Excel But Unforeseen circumstances Edged Us Out Despite Our Superlative Performances In Both The League And The Aiteo Cup.
“On This Note, I want To Sincerely Appreciate His Excellency , Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, Executive Governor, Nasarawa State For The Opportunity Given To Me To Serve And Lead The Club As Chairman, As Well As The Confidence Reposed In Me And The Unquantifiable Support Given To The club.
“As a Management, We Came As A Child Of Necessity To Rescue The Club From Its Bad Situation. We Did Not Only Rescue The Club From Relegation, We Have Also Taken The Club To An Enviable Position Of National Recognition In Terms Of Placement And Quality Performances.
“We Aimed Higher Owing TO The Huge Support From The State Government As Well As The Prayers Of The Good People Of Nasarawa State But A Lot Of Factors Didn’t Allow Our Aspirations Come To Fruition.
“We Fought A Very Good Fight To The End. We Have A Bunch Of Highly Motivated, Commited And Disciplined Players And Officials Who Gave Their Best To Take The Club To Stardom But Unfortunately, Factors Like Clustered Fixtures, Fatigue, And Force Majeure Hindered Us From Achieving The Set Target.
“Going Forward, We Shall Maintain And Consolidate On The Standard Already Set With A View To Keeping The Team And Beefing It Up So As To Achieve Better Result In Future.
“I Sincerely Thank Everyone For The Massive Support Given To Us. May God Continue To Bless And Reward You Always.
“May He Also Keep The Bond Binding Us Together.
“Long Live Nasarawa United!
“Long Live Nasarawa State Government!!”
