J.Atete FC of Warri emerged champion of the 3rd edition of the Felix Anirah Football Tournament with a 1-0 win against Zenith Fc of Sapele.
The Utu Jeremi based side took the lead in the 46″ minutes after the first half ended goalless.
Future Stars, the Junior team to J.Atete also defeated Pemu FC of Sapele 1-0 to claimed third place.
J.Atete cart home with a handsome prize of two million Naira as the grand prize, while the second finalist, Zenith Fc got one point five million and third place winner Future Stars go home with one million Naira.
The sponsor of the tournament, Honourable Felix Anirah of the Delta State House of Assembly, said the next edition will be bigger with an increase of the prize money from Two Million naira to five million.
“The next edition will be bigger and more entertaining with the money increasing from 2 million Naira to 5 million Naira.”.
“The 4th edition will capture the entire south region with limited participants”.

However, former Super Eagles captain Austine Eguaveon lead Ex-International against retired professional players to a goalless novelty match.
Austine Eguaveon commended Chief Felix Anirah and the organizing committee for their effort and a job well done.
” This should be encouraged so that the standard will be heightened because tournament like this is where players like us who represent the country and played to the highest level were discovered”.
