2020 Edo NSF: “Postponement is the right decision” – Tonobok Okowa

Following the postponement of the 2020 Edo State National Sports Festival, Chairman of Delta state sports Commission,DSSC, Chief Tonobok Okowa has commend the decision by the Federal government to save lives.

Tonobok said at a time like this where more cases of Covid-19 is been recorded, proper precaution is needed.

He said no doubt Delta state and other participating states have put in much effort especially the host state but lives comes first before games.

The stylish administrator also said Delta state has taken some drastic measures to stop all sporting activities that will constitute crowd in other to curtail the dreaded Corona Virus.

While feeding question from AIT, Kakaki program, the Junior Okowa dismissed allegations that Delta state buy medals to win the National Sports Festival,NSF.

” Some people must be serious. We take good care of our athletes”.

“For one to win, you must have good athletes, we have good athletes,you must have coaches,we have good coaches,you must have good sports facilities and we have it”.

” We look beyond preparation, and that has being helping us”.

The Nigeria Minister of sports Sunday Dare through the Federal Government of Nigeria postpone the 2020 Edo National Sports Festival that is billed to kick of this Sunday March 22nd to April 1st till further notice.
